Did you notice Lake Padden?  It is the centerpiece of a 900 acre city park in Bellingham, Wa.  This is a site to explore and share information about Lake Padden.  Forest trails, play fields, picnic shelters, swimming beach, and a dog park ring the lake.    Joggers, bikers and walkers share trails with wildlife you wouldn't suspect in a city park.  It is a place where one can still have a close connection to the natural world.

The Padden News Blog. Is about sightings and posts of animals and plants.

Use the Maps Link. to find an interactive map to plan out a route or use it to locate a sighting.

As this site grows there will be more about plants, animals, and ecology. Please be patient and check back from time to time.

I started with the common Birds of Winter.  Use the link to know what to look for, help identify, and find out about common birds here. Birds are just a start.  Plants, pond life, stream life and more will follow.

Trails, Stories and History Link is about experiences. There was this miracle on the Ridge Loop Trail...

People For Lake Padden is a group dedicated to preserving Lake Padden.  They have information about water testing, the environment,  and the health of this beautiful park.

Use the Contact link to email me if you have something you'd like to share about Lake Padden. I'd love to hear from you.

I hope this site will be a resource and inspiration to visit and maintain this precious place.
